Who is kristin haynie?
Kristin is someone who wants to give back to the game of basketball and help the youth achieve their dreams and goals.
As a four-year letterwinner, Kristin was one of the most successful players in Spartan history. Kristin was MSU’s career leader in assists (574) and steals (346) as well as eighth in school history in points (1,199) and 16th in rebounding (601). She is the fourth player (man or woman) in Big Ten history to reach career totals of 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 300 steals. Kristin helped take the Spartans to the national final game against Baylor in 2005.
In that same year, she was the ninth pick in the WNBA Draft, taken by the Sacramento Monarchs. Kristin helped lead the Monarchs to a WNBA Championship in 2005. She is the only player to have played in the NCAA finals as well as the WNBA finals in the same year.
Kristin then went on to play 7 years professionally in the WNBA and overseas before hanging up her shoes to coach at Eastern Michigan for 2 seasons and then Central Michigan for 3 seasons. In 2016 her point guard, Presley Hudson, was awarded Freshman of the Year. In 2017 CMU won the regular season conference outright, with the point guard earning 1st Team all MAC honors.
In 2017, Kristin was inducted into the Michigan State University Hall of Fame. Today she trains future champions privately while also consulting with coaches on team and game strategy.
